The residents and staff of MediLodge of Richmond were blessed by two Columbus families who wanted to share their animal love during this difficult time. March 14th was the first day that the facility started lock down measures due to the social distancing guidelines from the CDC. No longer allowed to have group dining, group therapy or group activities. Adaptions have been made to do all these things in individual rooms of the residents. Thanks to Maria DeLaney, her son Gabe, JoJo Myers and her daughter Maisie, with our residents in mind, they thought outside the box and wanted to spread joy. As they proudly walked “Cash” a quarter horse and “Bailey” a miniature horse around the facility to each and every window they lifted so many spirits. There were smiles, laughs, handclaps, tears, and lots of hands reaching toward the windows. One statement that could be heard coming from inside was, “I could watch them all day! They’re so beautiful”. There just are no words to express the gratitude that we have toward them for taking the time to spread their beautiful animal love.
